Refund Policy
Last updated: August 16, 2026
1. Love it, or your money back
If you are not happy with your restoration, you get your money back. Real money, to the card you paid with — never a voucher and never a store credit.
Ask within thirty (30) days of delivery. Before we refund we would much rather fix it, so we will offer revisions first, and those are free and unlimited (Section 2). But the choice is yours: if you would rather have the money back than another attempt, say so and that is the end of it.
Cancel before we start and you get everything back, at any time, no questions. Because we hold every order for a short change window before work begins, there is usually a real gap in which nothing has been spent.
What the guarantee cannot cover is the impossible. If a face has been worn off a photograph, no restorer can tell you what it looked like, and asking us to invent one is not a defect we can refund against. We will tell you before you buy if we think your photograph is in that territory.
To keep the guarantee sustainable it is limited to two (2) satisfaction refunds per purchaser in any rolling twelve-month period. See Section 7.
1.1 At a glance
| Situation | What you get | When |
|---|---|---|
| You cancel before work has begun | Everything, in full | Any time before we start |
| You are unhappy with a digital restoration | Free revisions, or your money back if you prefer | Within 30 days of delivery |
| We miss the delivery date you paid to bring forward | The delivery upcharge back, automatically | Within 5 business days — you do not have to ask |
| You change your mind about prints, before approving the proof | The print charges in full | Any time before proof approval |
| Prints arrive damaged, defective or never arrive | A free replacement, or a refund | Tell us and we sort it |
| An original you posted is lost or damaged in our care | Up to $150, or your declared value | See Section 4.2 |
2. Free revisions — we work until you are happy
Revisions are free. Not one free revision, not free for the first week. Free, and as many as it takes. One honest boundary: if after reasonable attempts we conclude we cannot produce a result you are happy with, we may close the request by refunding that photograph in full — the same remedy you could choose yourself at any time.
Tell us what is not right — reply to your delivery email, write to support@revivemyphoto.com. The more specific you are the faster we get there: her dress was blue, not green, my grandfather's chin has gone soft, the background is too bright. Your restorer reads it and works on the same photograph again.
The line between a revision and a new order is what you are asking for on the same photograph. Adjusting our work is a revision. Asking us to remove a person, add somebody who was never in the frame, combine two photographs, or restore a different photograph is new work, and we will quote it before doing anything.
3. Digital restorations
Your restoration is delivered as a file you download from your dashboard.
If we refund a restoration, the license to use that file ends and we ask you to delete your copies. In return we delete ours: your uploaded original and the restored file go within thirty (30) days, and our encrypted backups cycle out within ninety (90). We cannot audit your hard drive and we are not going to try — this is a matter of good faith on both sides.
Delivery dates. How long we take depends on what you chose:
- Standard — five (5) business days, included.
- Priority delivery — two (2) business days, $10.
- Rush delivery — one (1) business day, $20.
Business days exclude weekends. The clock starts when your payment is confirmed or when a usable photograph reaches us, whichever is later — so if you are posting originals, it starts when they arrive.
If we miss the date on a delivery option you paid extra for, we refund that upcharge automatically, within five (5) business days, without you having to notice or ask. Standard delivery costs nothing, so there is no upcharge to return; if we are late on a Standard order the satisfaction guarantee in Section 1 still applies in full.
A missed date does not end the work. We keep going, and your restoration still arrives.
4. Prints and mailed-in originals
Two different things travel by post — prints we make for you, and originals you send us. They have different rules, so they are separated here.
4.1 Prints we make for you
Prints are optional, and nothing is printed before you have seen and approved a digital proof.
Before you approve the proof, you can cancel the print part of your order for a full refund, for any reason at all.
After you approve it, we buy paper and ink and put it through a press, so print charges are no longer refundable — unless what arrives is damaged, defective, or does not match the proof you approved, or never arrives at all. In any of those cases you get a free replacement or a refund, whichever you prefer. Photograph the damage if you can; it helps us with the lab, and it is not a condition of putting it right.
Prints usually ship within four to ten days of proof approval. If we are going to miss a shipping date we promised, or thirty (30) days from your order, we will tell you before that date with the new expected date, and you may accept it or cancel the print portion for a prompt refund. If the new date is within thirty (30) days and you do not reply, we continue with the new date; for a longer or a second delay we need to hear from you, and if we do not, we cancel that portion and refund you.
4.2 Getting your original photographs back
We post your originals back to you. That is part of the $19.95 physical handling and return fee, it is not conditional on anything, and it has nothing to do with whether you asked for a refund. A refunded order still gets its photographs home. We return them to the address you provide for the return — you can confirm or change it before we post, and it does not have to be the address your envelope came from.
While your original is with us we hold it as a bailee — it stays yours, and we look after it with reasonable care.
Standard protection is $150 per original — or what you paid for the order, if that is more — included at no extra charge, covering loss or damage caused by our negligence while it is in our care. If a photograph is worth more than that to you, buy declared-value handling and we will cover it up to the amount you declare; ask us before you post.
Getting your envelope to us is at your risk, so please use a tracked service. Coming back to you, we are responsible until it is delivered, up to the same limits.
None of these limits applies to gross negligence, recklessness or willful misconduct on our part.
If we cannot deliver your originals back — a wrong address, an uncollected parcel — we hold them for at least ninety (90) days and make up to three documented attempts to reach you. We do not destroy anybody's photographs without writing to them first.
5. How to ask for a refund
Email support@revivemyphoto.com. Tell us which order and what is wrong — a sentence is enough.
You do not need an account, a login or an order number. Your email address is normally all we need to find you.
We acknowledge every refund request within two (2) business days, and if we need anything else from you we will ask in that first reply rather than leaving you waiting.
6. How the money comes back
Always to the card or payment method you used. We cannot send it anywhere else — that is a fraud-prevention rule, not a preference.
We start an approved refund within about two (2) business days. The automatic delivery-upcharge refund in Section 3 goes within five (5) business days of the missed date.
Your bank then takes its own time, usually five to ten business days, to show it on your statement. That part is outside our control, and we can give you the confirmation to chase it with.
Sales tax comes back with the refund.
On an order with several photographs, we refund the ones affected rather than the whole order — and when a restoration is refunded, everything that existed only to serve it goes with it: its colorization, any prints of it, and the $19.95 handling fee for that photograph. There will be no restored image for those to apply to, so charging for them would be charging for nothing. If every photograph on an order is refunded, the delivery charge goes too.
7. Fair use of the guarantee
A guarantee this open only works if it is not abused, and being specific about the limit is fairer than reserving a vague right to refuse.
The limit is two (2) satisfaction refunds per purchaser in any rolling twelve-month period. Beyond that we will still fix genuine problems — a print that arrives damaged is always replaced, and a mistake of ours is always ours to put right — but the no-questions satisfaction refund is spent.
We treat the following as abuse: claiming a refund for a restoration you are demonstrably still using commercially; requesting refunds on a pattern of orders while continuing to place new ones; giving false information about an order; and reselling our work.
Two people at the same address are two people. Each has their own guarantee, and we will not merge them because a billing address matches.
On a bulk order, each photograph is judged on its own, and we will ask to attempt a revision before refunding rather than refunding a set wholesale.
8. Chargebacks
If something has gone wrong, please write to us first. We would rather refund you in two days than argue with a bank for two months, and the guarantee above means you rarely need one.
That said, disputing a charge is your right and we do not treat it as an offense. We will never penalize you, refuse to work with you again, or hold back your photographs because you raised a dispute in good faith.
If a bank asks us for evidence we will provide it, including delivery records. We will not argue that delivering a file proves you were happy with it — those are different things, and our own guarantee says so.
9. Your rights, your photographs, and reaching us
Nothing in this policy takes away a consumer right the law gives you and does not let you waive.
Your restoration is the work of a person, and we never use your photographs to train any model. We identify nobody in your photographs and create no facial-recognition data, we strip geolocation metadata by default, and we never sell or share your images. The full picture is in our Privacy Policy.
Using your restoration in our gallery or advertising requires your specific opt-in permission, given per photograph and withdrawable at any time. Where an identifiable child is shown, we require verified parental consent instead.
Our website analytics and advertising cookies may count as selling or sharing under some state privacy laws. You can opt out through the link in our footer or with a Global Privacy Control signal, and it changes nothing about your service.
Customers in the EU and UK: where you asked us to begin work immediately, you consented to that and acknowledged the loss of the fourteen-day withdrawal right for services already performed. Your rights of access, erasure, portability and objection are unaffected, and international transfers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses.
Disputes. This policy is governed by the law of the State of Wyoming, or by the law of your home state where that applies instead. Disputes are resolved by individual binding arbitration before the American Arbitration Association, with your filing fee capped at $200 and the option of a telephone, video or documents-only hearing. Small claims remain available and can be brought where you live. Class and representative actions are waived. You may opt out of arbitration entirely within thirty (30) days by writing to 30 N Gould St Ste N, Sheridan, Wyoming 82801 — the full terms, and what opting out does and does not change, are in Section 15 of our Terms of Service.
